Motivation
We are pleased that C@MPUS is available with a modernized interface starting December 4, 2023 for all employees. A feature that our students are using for some time.
The new start page of C@MPUS, the “Home” desktop, consists of cards that represent the available applications and these cards allow flexible adaption to different devices and screen sizes. By marking frequently used applications as favorites, you can customize the desktop to suit your needs and requirements.
Together with the representatives of the C@MPUS user committee, we adapted the desktop to the requirements of the University of Stuttgart and prepared short, concise, but at the same time complete instructions for different user groups. Advice for those switching
The previous distinction between business card and organizational pages no longer applies. You will now see all applications in a complete list. The quickest way to find the application you need is to type the name into the filter field. We recommend saving frequently used applications as favorites.
The “My Exam Management” application in the new view. We recommend marking frequently used applications as favorites.
The “LV survey” application in the new view. Unlike before, you now first select the application and in the second step the organizational unit. We recommend saving the combination of “LV survey” with a specific organizational unit as a favorite (if necessary, multiple times with different organizational units).
The “My Course” application in the new view. We recommend marking frequently used applications as favorites.
Additional features
A black and white high contrast mode can be selected in the personal settings. In addition, usability with a keyboard and screen reader has been improved so that the new views meet the WCAG requirements for accessible web content.
You can mark frequently used applications as favorites, both with and without organization selection, and thus customize the desktop to suit your needs and requirements.
The desktop adapts flexibly to different devices and screen sizes with its cards or list elements, so that side scrolling is no longer required during operation and the use with mobile device is improved.
Most of the change to the new views takes place "behind the scenes": Through a fundamental change in technology, we get software that is easier to maintain and expand and therefore future-proof. The existing applications will be migrated gradually, with the student views being revised first.
